On Sunday I had the opportunity to meet lots of amazing brides and grooms at the annual Illawarra bridal expo at the WIN entertainment centre. It is always a huge day with lots of sugar & talking! It takes a lot to prepare for and set up on the saturday… my neighbours near the studio thought I was moving out because just about all the furniture was loaded onto the back of a ute;) but it is great fun making it look pretty, and I get to catch up with lots of local vendors who I don’t see as often as I’d like to.  Here’s some pics of my stand from this year. Huge thank you to Kate from Always flowers for the beautiful floral arrangements and for filling my little hanging jars! Get ready for the colour explosion (and please excuse the dodgy pics..the lighting in the booths is terrible!) 

I should note that my little felt cameras are from a fabulous Etsy store, one late night . The word cushions are also from Etsy, Honey Pie designs . My long stemmed heart lollipops were a huge hit and are from goody goody gum drops. Everything else is stuff fro my home or studio..

Thank you to all the fabulous people who came to visit me.. it was great to meet new people, catch up with old friends and share my work with everyone there. xxx jk

One of the highlights of my “job” is getting to know the people who trust me to capture the story of their wedding day. I love pre-wedding sessions especially for that reason, as it gives us time to chat, relax, have fun and get used to each other (and the camera). I had a blast with Brittany and Joel last Thursday wandering around the back of the Lagoon area, trying to hide from the bitterly cold wind and enjoying their warm and friendly personalities. They are so sweet with each other, lots of giggling and cuddles, plus they are super cute..so it made my job pretty easy! Thank you for braving the cold and for sharing yourselves with me B&J! Sarah and I go back quite a ways..we used to work together many years ago..so I was thrilled when she asked me to be her wedding photographer. And I have Greg to thank for organising my sensational Fiji holiday (he owns and runs Dapto Travel!) We started their session at their new home and then headed to the location of Greg’s other love , his cricket field. Then to an empty park to enjoy the winter sunlight and foliage before finishing off at the beach and the Harp (the “prestigious” hotel where they first met!). They have a gentle way with each other, hidden underneath lots of teasing and good humour…which made for lots of laughter and genuine smiles (my favourite!) Thank you Sarah & Greg for sharing yourselves with me and for being so much fun! xxx jk
